Making a Good Impression

Crane & Co., one of America’s finest stationers, has created a new wedding album that features the art of letterpress printing. This technique is the oldest form of printing, in which letters and motifs are pressed directly into thick paper, leaving a deep impression. Crane uses their own Lettra paper for this process. Made from 100% recycled cotton (like all their papers), the heavy weight and super soft texture of Lettra offers the perfect surface to hold the pressed text and images. Letterpress printing is currently enjoying a much-deserved popularity.

In this age of the Internet, there is nothing more exciting than receiving “real” mail. The human connection that is created by the of passing an invitation through the post, from one hand to another, cannot be matched by e-mail.

What better way to invite your guests to your special day, and remind them of your common bond, than with the old-world charm of a letterpress printed invitation?

Crane & Co. have collected a broad selection of styles in this album, from whimsical to romantic, clean and modern to refined classic. The album also showcases some new motifs, monograms, duograms, envelope liners, and ink colors. These inks are soy-blended, a more environmentally friendly choice than traditional inks.

Also, Crane & Co. now offer customizable letterpress printed coasters. Reinforce your wedding theme at the reception, and let your guests take home a gorgeous, but useful, memento of your day. Customized coasters also make a wonderful gift for any occasion.

Paper on Pine invites you to stop by and check out this beautiful new album, and browse the rest of our collection, including an all letterpress wedding album by Dauphine Press.

For the love of letterpress!

Letterpress is becoming incredibly popular for wedding invitations today. I consider it one of the most beautiful printing techniques - the surface of the type is inked and then pressed into a soft, rich paper.

The results are stunning - and some super cute designs are being paired to create awesome results! This is one of my favorites from one of the best stationers we work with - William Arthur.

It pairs a damask print design in a light, periwinkle blue with a deep chocolate letterpressed ink. The results are stunning and make such as huge statement! Not only is the invitation square, but all of the other elements that are designed to work with this invitation (response set, reception card) are square as well. The result - a unique invitation that will surely get all of your guests anxiously anticipating your wedding!

Crane & Co. - another large and very well regarded name in the stationery industry - also has a great selection of letterpress. This "wasabi" green is really popular now - and it's perfectly accented with chocolate brown letterpress type on a thick and luxurious card!
